Happy New Year!!!.. I hope you all had a great holiday season. Mine was both quiet & exciting. The quietness came from the joy of spending the holidays with my wife & daughter with a minimum of distractions. The excitment came from the fact that, because of my wife Julie accepting a new job, we'll be moving back to NYC this year!! I cannot wait!! After living in Manhattan for 32 years, I was convinced that I was ready for a quieter existence. As Julie had no problem with that, in 2004 we moved to our current home in Florida, NY (that's right...Florida the city...not the state) about 70 miles northwest of NYC. It didn't take me long to discover how wrong I was about what I need and want from my hometown. In a nutshell, I found out that I really am a city boy at heart & am so lucky that the situation arose that will allow me to move back to my "real" home...NYC!! We should be back by summer's end. It's funny how you never stop learning things about yourself...at least I don't! It makes life very interesting, to say the least! Oh yeah..music news!! I'm currently in Tampa, Florida (the state...not the city) starting a short Florida tour with Liza Minnelli. We'll be doing a few shows over the next couple of weeks (with a brief 1-day trip back to NYC for 1 show before heading back to Florida). "Sanctuaries" has begun getting some iTunes downloads which makes me very happy. I must admit that, with the holidays & all, I've been lacking a bit in my independent artist repsonsibilities of promoting the CD on my own. I will surely try to correct that soon. It's the old story of the "business" of the music business being way more foreign to most musicians than the "music" element. On a positive note, I've begun assembling a list of possible new pieces for my 2nd CD that I hope to have out in 2007. As it stands now, I have about 50% of the music chosen. Seeing that I should be on the road a bit over the next couple of months I hope to write a bit more often with some road stories, especially from Europe in February, March & April. Speak to you then!
