Transmitting from Bonn, Germany... We just arrived this morning to begin our 10-day tour. Usually, on the road, you'll try to be placed in a hotel that's convenient to the venue where you're playing. Sometimes that'll be right in the middle of town where there's tons to do & see, & sometimes it'll be in the middle of nowhere where you have to work to create adventures for yourself. (Not that I'm Mr. Adventure, but I do like to enjoy the sites of wherever I happen to be, especailly when travelling to new places). Here, we're gonna have to work. The hotel is extremely nice but located in the middle of what looks like an industrial park. The good news is that there appears to be a train station nearby which could be the answer to all of our problems in getting around. Luckily, tonight one of the local crew is having a little get together for us in his home so we'll be well entertained by his hospitality. Tomorrow is our show to be followed by 2 days off where we'll see how valuable that train station turns out to be. One very interesting thing is that Bonn is the birthplace of Beethoven. His childhood home is now a museum which is very close to the top of my list of places to check out. I'll let you know how I do in my explorations. More soon...
